A man found a cocoon enclosing a butterfly. One day a small opening appeared in the cocoon, he sat and watched the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to force its body through the little hole. Then it seemed to stop making any progress.
He took a pair of scissors and snipped the cocoon to enlarge the opening. The butterfly was able to emerge out of the enlarged opening easily.
Something was strange. The butterfly had a swollen body and shriveled wings.
The man carried on watching the butterfly, expecting at any moment to see the wings enlarge and expand to be able to take the weight of the body, which would shrink in time.
To the mans surprise nothing happened. The butterfly spent the rest of its life with deformed wings and a swollen body. It was never able to fly.
What the man in his kindness and haste did not understand, was that the restricting cocoon and the struggle require for the butterfly to emerge out of the small opening was God’s way of forcing fluid into the butterfly’s wings, so that it was ready to fly after it managed to come out of the cocoon.
The struggle was necessary for the butterfly to develop it’s wings and take off.
Sometimes struggle are exactly what we need in our lives.
If God allowed us to go through life without any obstacles, we would all end up crippled. We can never become as strong as we can be without facing these struggles.
Think of the struggles (obstacles), you face in your life as God’s plan to enable you to develop the resources necessary to reach your true potential. It’s God’s way of helping us all to develop wings to reach freedom.
Share this story with the people that you care about in your life. Let them know that life’s struggles are in reality opportunities for us to grow in areas that we are weak in.
Every obstacle you encounter is an opportunity for you to grow, develop skills and thoughts to enhance your life experience.
