Most people work in a job for 8 hours daily and also spend on average 2 hours traveling related to their job. Most people also spend around 7 hours sleeping.
This is the routine for 5 out of 7 days of the week. 17 hours are taken up by your job and sleeping. Another 2 hours are taken up with eating, drinking, washing and bathroom needs. 19 hours have been taken up from your 24 hours. This leaves you 5 hours, you still need to spend some time with your friends and family.
Can you see how much time is already taken up with necessary stuff?
Just to escape from this time constrained reality, most people watch television go out to bars and clubs. Others may decide to just laze around and surf the internet, wasting precious hours on social media.
In fact we only have around 3 to 4 hours to carry out the import tasks in our lives. Manage these 3 to 4 hours efficiently to produce the best results. Give yourself at least 1 hour daily, use this time to meditate, set and review your goals, planning your dream lifestyle.
We still need to find some time to fit in some exercise. You should do a minimum of 30 minutes of vigorous exercise daily.
You should use the remaining 2 days to plan your freedom from the 9 to 5 routine. Spend time with your friends and family. Use these 2 days to relax and reflect on your lifestyle and plan for the future.
I know people work different shifts and hours, so use this as a guide and create your own time management plan around your circumstances.
The best way to stop you from wasting time on unproductive tasks is by creating a list of tasks that need to be accomplished. Prioritize this list using numbers, work on the most important 3 tasks, the ones that will result in the accomplishment.
Always work on the tasks that need your immediate action, these will be hard to accomplish. If you don’t do them you will be wasting your valuable time on least productive task. The important tasks will keep on getting dragged on from day to day.
If you keep on avoiding the important tasks, you will create stress in your life. When you make a decision to work on the important tasks and start taking action, you will start to feel good about yourself and your abilities.
Write down your list of tasks for the following day, just before you go to bed. Read through this list to implant them into your subconscious mind. This will get your subconscious working on solutions whilst you sleep.
When you wake up in the morning, look at your list of tasks and start working on the most important task.
By writing down a list of tasks and prioritizing them with numbers, you will be creating a plan of action that will be passed over to your subconscious mind. You will also be able to track your daily actions and see where your valuable time is spent.
